I am very pleased that my portfolio has been published in issue #3, September 2019, of International Art Magazine - Contemporary Identities.
Many of André Wagner's photographic series were taken abroad, far from his home country of Germany, but despite the "exotic" places, his pictures are neither simple travel photos nor with objective documentary intentions.
Rather, he is concerned with finding the visually perceptible traces of what constitutes the intellectual and spiritual complexity of the places, sometimes focusing on impressive natural phenomena, in other cases on highlighting the complex social contexts or the peculiarities of urban aesthetics, so that these works can be considered not only photographic-graphic but also philosophical reflections on the meaning of the place itself.
