Aokigahara Forest 2

A closer look at the work
A massive trunk broadens into spreading roots. A slimmer tree stands left; branches cross at many angles behind. Dark fallen wood traverses the foreground. Light clarifies vertical bark grooves while hollows between roots remain difficult to see.
Tree and ground cannot be separated. A widened base and surrounding stones make weight visible; height lies outside the frame. Instead of looking into a crown, the eye encounters anchorage. Persistence becomes spatial relation: one body occupies its place among many others in a setting that is neither simple nor still in form.
