Water
Aokigahara Forest 3
2016
A closer look at the work
A fallen trunk runs diagonally across mossy stones and roots. A dark tree rises right; a narrow opening lies between strong bases left. Smaller branches repeat the foreground diagonal. Green, brown and pale bark form a dense surface that gradually releases spatial layers.
The diagonal guides and obstructs at once. It draws sight inward while blocking imagined straight movement. Orientation need not mean free access. Upright and fallen forms create small partly readable spaces. Forest becomes coexistence among different states without one motif fully organising it.
