Water
Burned Forest 1
2018
A closer look at the work
Slender dark trunks stand across a very wide, low forest view. Nearly black ground is interrupted by small yellowish patches. Dense vertical layers create depth; sky barely matters. The panorama concentrates on the narrow zone between ground and trunk bases, intensifying each bright spot.
The title identifies a burned forest; the view itself offers darkness, remaining forms and scattered brightness without establishing cause or sequence. Width makes the condition an extended environment rather than an isolated detail. The eye moves between trunks, encountering continuity through the repetition of slender, separate bodies.
