Authentic Nature
Comeback, Deutschland
2010
A closer look at the work
Bright rays emerge behind a tree and fan through the woodland. One side of the trunk glows red while dense foliage is lit green. Dark shrubs and a few upright forms remain below. The source is partly concealed, but diverging beams make its direction clear.
The existing work text connects Comeback to a night event using artificial lighting. Forest structure and directed illumination visibly overlap. Growing branches interrupt the rays and give them different shapes. Nature remains materially present while its visibility is temporarily reorganised. The photograph holds a place that is both an environment and a deliberately altered field of experience.
