A closer look at the work
A pale jetty leads straight across dark water towards distant architecture. Near its end, a golden light circle stands before a horizontal sequence of domes and roofs, doubled in reflection. Pale sky stays open above. The irregular luminous circle interrupts calm symmetry.
The route directs the gaze while the circular trace proposes another spatial possibility. It resembles an opening without a fixed structural boundary. Reflection doubles the distant place; the jetty physically approaches it. A walkable line and immaterial circle evoke the title's threshold while leaving that threshold an imaginative reading rather than a literal event.
