The Infrared Journey
Döberitzer heide 2, Deutschland
A closer look at the work
A tall, nearly bare tree stands near the centre of a low rise. Smaller trees occupy the sides beneath a deep turquoise sky. Pink terrain and fine branches contrast with darker trunks. Open sky separates the main tree's individual branches.
Each tree has space around it. The central form can almost be read as a portrait without losing its relationship to the ground. Differences in posture, height and distance become prominent, creating rhythm through separate individuals within a shared landscape.
