The Infrared Journey
Döberitzer heide, Deutschland
A closer look at the work
Slender, partly bare trees stand above open pink ground beneath a turquoise sky. Small crowns introduce red accents. Dark trunks frame the edges, while low rises and scattered branches articulate the terrain. The intervals between trees matter as much as their varying heights.
This is an open arrangement of upright lines rather than a closed forest. Shifted colour connects the ground and brings individual forms forward. The landscape appears shaped as strongly by the spaces between its trees as by the trees themselves.
