Authentic Nature
Isle of skye 3, Schottland
2018
Artwork text and archival details
Adapted from the artist’s archive.
Green slopes lead towards the rocky heights of the Isle of Skye beneath a softly pink evening sky. A circular formation in the centre draws the eye away from the distant horizon and back into the landscape. Its shape introduces a point of concentration within the broader terrain.
The photograph brings gentle colour into relation with the weight of rock. These contrasting qualities suggest a landscape experienced through both immediate sensation and associations with legend and memory. The circular form remains open to interpretation, holding a quiet tension between what is observed and what the imagination adds.
