Iceland
Jökulsárlòn glacier lagoon 2, Island
2014
A closer look at the work
Pale ice rises in pointed and rounded steps above calm water. A dark incision interrupts white and faint blue on the right. Grey sky and water share colour, allowing reflection to extend form downward without a hard division. Sparse turquoise gains intensity.
Body and optical counterpart have nearly equal brightness. Above, edges and hollows imply weight; below, slight movement modifies them. Calm water enables comparison. Material surface and reflection offer different persistence. Time is present in the view's dependence on a temporary state of water, without requiring added symbolism.
