Romance of Elements
Media Spree Crane, Deutschland
2002
A closer look at the work
A large crane stands at the end of a dark open surface. A narrow golden trace runs from the bottom edge towards its base, establishing a vertical axis. The boom leans against grey violet sky, with distant lights at the sides.
The line turns an industrial view into a directed drawing. It connects the viewpoint to the machine and makes the intervening space significant. The crane becomes both equipment and articulated volume, revealing how one additional line can reorganise a place.
