A closer look at the work
A bright area appears behind densely spaced trees. Greenish leaves and fine branches form overlapping layers around a leaning near trunk. Light selects particular surfaces while much of the woodland remains difficult to survey.
Brightness promises information but branches repeatedly interrupt it. The charged title raises a narrative expectation unsupported by a definite visible action. The difference shows how language can change a scene's associations while its forms remain open to several readings.
