Water
Oasis of silence 3, Schottland
2018
A closer look at the work
A branching limb reaches from the left over blue-grey water. Its pale mossy surface remains distinct while darker reflected lines appear below. A thicker trunk stands farther back and continues in the water. Fine ripples draw vertical streaks through the reflection, preventing an exact duplication.
The image concentrates on the uncertain boundary between body and image. Some lines seem to touch although they occupy different spatial levels. Oasis of Silence 3 suggests quiet, yet slight surface change remains visible. Looking becomes slow and searching, repeatedly distinguishing branches actually suspended over water from those that appear only within it.
