Water
Ocean rock and waterfall, Schottland
A closer look at the work
A pale waterfall descends as an almost solid vertical band beside dark rock. Numerous angular stones occupy the right, ranging from large blocks to small fragments. Cool blue connects their different surfaces. Below, the bright water becomes softer before disappearing among the stones.
Ocean Rock and Waterfall concentrates on continuous movement beside fragmented mass. Water looks smooth despite changing, while still stones reveal many breaks. The close crop avoids a complete coastal view. Landscape becomes a local relationship between material and flow, presented without an open horizon or a human figure to establish scale.
