A closer look at the work
A curled nude body lies behind coloured rectangles. The head is lowered on the left; a rounded back rises on the right. Yellow, green and blue fields cover both figure and pale background. A dark foreground block obscures parts of the lower contour, making the body readable in sections.
The folded posture gathers the figure inward while the colour grid divides it again. Geometric boundaries rarely coincide with anatomical curves. The eye must choose repeatedly between plane and body. This double reading distances the image from the idea of an immediately accessible nude: bodily presence remains clear while its appearance reveals mediation and arrangement.
