Romance of Elements
Rainforest 3, New Zealand

A closer look at the work
A luminous secret in the wilderness
Deep in the New Zealand rainforest, among moss-covered branches and dense foliage, Rainforest 3 unfolds as a visual mystery. Intense shades of green meet an unexpected glow, bringing the scene to the threshold between the visible world and the imagination.
Light in the darkness
A point of light interrupts the dense green. It recalls ball lightning, a fleeting natural phenomenon or something imagined, without settling into a single explanation. The photograph leaves the question open: what do we recognise in a landscape, and what do we project onto it?
Depth, shadow and colour
The rich, almost unreal greens bring movement, shadow and light into close relation. Cool moss contrasts with the warmth of the glow. The eye moves between the intricate vegetation and this concentrated source of brightness, gradually discovering the depth of the scene.
An encounter with the unknown
Rainforest 3 gives the mysterious a place within the natural world. Its luminous centre invites sustained attention while resisting a definitive reading. The work leaves room for the possibility that a landscape can become more compelling the longer we look, without revealing all its secrets.
