A closer look at the work
Low sunlight shines between slender trunks. Long shadows fan across green grass towards the viewer, while young leaves and open intervals reveal much of the sky. A meadow continues behind the loosely spaced trees.
Light acts as an organising centre rather than even illumination. Shadows extend the trees into lines, connecting the viewpoint to the distant sun. Natural forms produce a legible geometry, showing how a changing position of light can temporarily turn an open place into a precise composition.
