Authentic Nature
Shiva Moon I, Neuseeland
2006
A closer look at the work
A broadly branching tree stands left of a strong white light, with darker trees grouped to the right. Long shadows stretch across green ground. Bright haze obscures the distance while crowns remain outlined against grey blue sky.
Textured ground feels tangible; the space around the light resists definition. The title opens poetic or religious associations without proving them through the scene. Upright form, intense brightness and disappearing distance sustain a reading grounded in what is visible.
