Authentic Nature
Ski hill, Deutschland

A closer look at the work
A snowfield rises gently towards a group of trees. Dark conifers and a taller bare tree gather on the right, leaving the left relatively open. Pale pink near the horizon gives way to cool grey sky. Subtle unevenness textures the apparently smooth snow.
The scene balances concentrated mass against open space. Trees anchor one side while snow leads the eye freely onward. The title suggests a use absent from the photograph, leaving the slope both a possible route for movement and a currently unoccupied surface.
