A closer look at the work
Golden rings of light fill the picture, narrowing towards a bright centre slightly left of the middle. The large outer arcs are cropped, while smaller coils continue to the right. Deep darkness lies between the luminous lines. Only a few patches of ground remain visible, giving the apparently floating form a faint spatial anchor.
The eye assembles the separate paths into a tunnel or spiral. Yet this depth remains an act of perception: what is initially visible is light traced across a surface. Cropping makes the form seem larger than the frame and prevents a closed outline. A pull develops without a depicted route. Movement becomes tangible through the diminishing sequence of bright lines rather than a travelling body.
