Authentic Nature
Story of wind 2, Frankreich
2008
A closer look at the work
A large rounded rock stands among smaller stones in low grassland. Light and dark hollows may appear almost facial from this angle. Broad rock forms lie behind beneath clouds. Fine grass contrasts with heavy, clearly outlined masses.
Facial resemblance arises in perception and remains tentative. It explains neither stone nor origin but reveals the eye's search for familiar forms. The title directs attention to wind, itself unseen. Surface, grass and clouds offer possible counterparts, allowing different measures of movement and persistence without prescribing the place's history.
