Romance of Elements
Swing, Spanien
2004
A closer look at the work
A broad sequence of bright loops crosses the night landscape diagonally from the right. The trail narrows towards the left and ends before dark hills. A tree with golden-brown foliage stands above it, while bright cloud interrupts deep-blue sky. Dry ground takes on the glow’s warm colour.
Swing makes a sequence of movement visible as layered spatial form. Similar loops produce rhythm, with compression also indicating distance. The tree remains a fixed reference beside this temporary drawing. Growing form meets recorded action. Light seems to create a route that can exist as a continuous body only within the photograph.
