A closer look at the work
Pale rocks extend from the left into a calm blue bay. A dense line of trees follows the curving coast behind them; distant rises close the space only loosely. Human figures appear on the nearby rocks as transparent, indistinct forms. They neither stand apart from the landscape nor establish themselves as fully solid bodies.
The conversation suggested by the title remains inaudible. What becomes visible is a temporary presence at the meeting of stone and water. Firm rock edges contrast with permeable figures, making encounter feel transient. The wide frame leaves ample space around them. Human exchange acquires significance precisely through its small and fleeting form.
