A closer look at the work
A curved glazed entrance projects diagonally before a large commercial façade. Its metal grid stays clear while people close to the camera become soft translucent forms. Bright lettering and smooth walls provide fixed reference points. The foreground is bodily crowded yet optically elusive.
Two kinds of permeability coexist. Glass admits light and sight; movement makes bodies partly transparent to their surroundings. The building preserves contours while people leave changing densities. The viewer looks from within this proximity towards a fixed structure. Urban experience requires movement and orientation at the same time.
