A closer look at the work
A pale patch of ground leads into a narrow woodland space. Thin trunks are lit red or yellow green, and an angled branch crosses their upright order. Dense detail surrounds a clearer central direction created by light.
Brightness establishes a passage more than any open path does. Colours assign neighbouring trunks different roles within the same space. The scene varies a question about how illumination alters our sense of where a space begins and continues.
