Authentic Nature
Wasserfall im regenwald, Neuseeland
2006
A closer look at the work
A pale waterfall appears within dense greenery in the rear of the image. Its water continues towards the viewer as a soft band over dark mossy stones. A diagonal branch crosses the upper half, joining the surrounding masses of foliage. No large opening to the sky appears.
Depth develops through glimpses and small areas of light. Water guides the eye while the forest interrupts and divides its route. Continuous flow meets dense growth: both occupy the same space and become more legible through their contact with each other.
