Way To The End, Island
2014
A closer look at the work
A dark road curves from the lower right into a white plain. Pale traces cross its surface; slim posts follow it. A small light mountain rises beneath grey-blue cloud layers. The road is the strongest line, leading beyond readable detail.
It promises orientation where surroundings offer few distinctions. Clear edges oppose soft transitions among snow, distance and sky. The title suggests an ending, but what appears is continuation beyond sight. Direction and uncertainty coexist: movement can be imagined without knowing where it would arrive.
