The Infrared Journey
Wingsuit Tree II
2006
A closer look at the work
A low spreading tree extends gnarled limbs across a grassy slope. Pale bare branches emerge from its dark crown, with hills beneath a pale sky beyond. Foreground grasses keep the tree tied to the terrain.
Growth extends sideways rather than upwards. The branches take up the slope's direction while retaining their own spatial order. The flight-related title can accompany this expansion poetically, while the visible form remains grounded.
