The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
Berlin — Urban Palimpsest
A closer look at the work
A graffiti-covered concrete surface occupies the lower part of the vertical frame. Its pale, slightly violet tones contrast with deep blue sky. Two very different vertical forms rise behind it: a slender church spire on the left and Berlin’s television tower on the right. Pink foliage supplies a softer accent above the hard edge.
The view connects writing, vegetation and architecture without offering a complete city prospect. The wall hides the towers’ lower parts, requiring their shared surroundings to be imagined. The title’s palimpsest can be understood as overlapping visible signs. Public writing and recognisable architectural forms coexist without any one mode of expression fully displacing or explaining the others.
