The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
Museum of the 20th Century – Under Construction
A closer look at the work
The dark roof of the Neue Nationalgalerie enters from the upper right. Its underside shows a precise grid against turquoise sky. A construction crane cuts in diagonally from the left. Beyond the shaded foreground stand pale building volumes surrounded by scaffolding, with pink foliage adding a small organic accent at the edge.
The archive note identifies the site as the Museum of the 20th Century. The photograph records a stage of construction whose open surfaces do not yet reveal completed use. Existing architecture provides a firm measure in front while another spatial order takes shape behind. Finished framework and provisional construction meet in one view. The title supplies a cultural future; materials, light and gaps remain the concrete subject.
