The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between

The Last Rock

A closer look at the work

An angular rock rests like a heavy body in turquoise water. Cracks and rough depressions mark its violet-pink upper surface; its shadow draws a second, dark shape in front. Pale foam spreads around it as an irregular network. Along the lower edge, this moving pattern meets a narrow strip of beach where individual traces remain visible. The steep downward view removes the sea's horizon, concentrating attention on contact, surface and weight.

Rock and foam give time different forms. The cracks seem accumulated and enduring, while the pale water lines suggest an order about to form anew. Yet the stone is no perfectly closed shape: edges, fractures and irregularities complicate the idea of unchanging permanence. The photograph holds an encounter in which solid and flowing matter define one another's contours. Its dark shadow anchors the rock in momentary light, binding apparent duration to this one visible state.

Personal consultation

The work, the space, the presentation.

What interests you about this work? I take time for your questions, its origins and its place in a collection. Together, we explore differences between works and their relationship with space, light and architecture.

Size, selected materials and bespoke framing are carefully coordinated. The precise presentation develops through our conversation.

A photograph of the intended space can help us consider scale and placement.
