The Infrared Journey
The Forgotten Oasis
Artwork text and archival details
Adapted from the artist’s archive.
The Forgotten Oasis shows a quiet village near a temple through the unfamiliar colours of infrared photography. Small shops line a dusty road; an ice-cream van is parked at the roadside. Only a few people occupy the street, continuing the routines of daily life.
Red-glowing palms rise in the background, setting ordinary activity within an almost dreamlike atmosphere. The scene appears suspended between the passage of time and a moment of stillness. It invites attention to places that might otherwise escape notice, and to the ways colour can change our sense of their distance and familiarity.
