A tree anchors the centre of the landscape. Its upward-reaching branches and rooted presence suggest a relationship between expansion and stability. Infrared photography shifts the scene away from familiar colour, allowing the structure of the tree and its surroundings to acquire a different visual emphasis.
The image offers a counterpoint to the density and pace of urban life. Its stillness can be read as an invitation to reconsider our relation to the natural world: what does it mean to feel grounded, and how might a change in the way we look reveal another way of inhabiting a place?
