The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
Tempelhof Perspective
A closer look at the work
A tower with a spherical crown stands large against violet-pink sky. Between its visible supports appears a much slimmer tower, its sphere placed precisely within the opening and its tip reaching under the nearer structure. Dark buildings, orange-red foliage and small people remain below. Separate structures almost become one form.
This connection depends on viewpoint. Apparent unity arises through an overlap of proximity and distance that would separate if the viewer moved. The smaller sphere echoes the larger without sharing its scale. Architecture becomes both object and frame for other architecture. Urban order emerges between buildings and observer as much as within individual structures.
