The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
Red Veiled Reality
A closer look at the work
Two people stand with their backs to the camera before a tall glass surface divided by diagonal members. Their long red garments create compact verticals among the slanting struts. A pale floor carries their shadows; water and distant buildings appear through the grid. The vertical format lets the architecture extend far above both figures.
Strong colour makes the people visible without disclosing their identities or beliefs. They look outwards together while viewers remain behind them. A double view emerges: we see people looking, and the space that organises their outlook. The photograph invites a careful distinction between visible clothing, spatial position and assumptions about belonging.
