The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi – Under Construction
A closer look at the work
Numerous cranes cross the sky above an extensive construction site. Vertical masts, angled booms and horizontal scaffolding form a dense but open network. Pale sandy areas lie before unfinished structures, with an orange cover providing one strong accent. The viewpoint remains outside the boundary and takes in the work as a spatial arrangement.
The photograph presents Guggenheim Abu Dhabi under construction. Instead of a completed museum view, it shows temporary structures that may later disappear. Supporting and auxiliary frameworks have not yet become a unified façade. Cultural architecture becomes visible as a material process: many connected working spaces precede the public building’s appearance as a coherent sign.
