A closer look at the work

A pale tower stands upside down in a dark puddle. Its reflection extends from the upper waterline almost to the bottom of the frame. Strong pink grass bounds the irregular opening on the right, with dark ground to the left and above. Small clouds appear between reflected structures, making the water seem like a piece of sky.

This Karlsruhe photograph reverses the usual direction of a city view: seeing the tower requires looking down. The puddle’s accidental shape replaces the planned frame of architectural perspective. The permanence of a building meets a temporary surface, with an entire vertical order briefly supported by a little water on the ground.

Personal consultation

The work, the space, the presentation.

What interests you about this work? I take time for your questions, its origins and its place in a collection. Together, we explore differences between works and their relationship with space, light and architecture.

Size, selected materials and bespoke framing are carefully coordinated. The precise presentation develops through our conversation.

A photograph of the intended space can help us consider scale and placement.
