Black hole 2
2008
A closer look at the work
Two covered upper bodies appear against black. Pale fabric and an orange scarf meet on the left; dark clothing and a strong blue scarf dominate the right. Facial areas remain black. The figures stand close but a narrow interval preserves their separate contours.
Black Hole 2 connects proximity with withheld recognition. Fabric colours distinguish the people while faces provide no further information. Viewers may imagine a relationship without receiving a confirmed story. That limitation is productive: the image reveals how readily visible clothing and spatial closeness can prompt assumptions about people beyond what the photograph actually shows.
