A closer look at the work

Red gates recede diagonally through dark trees, their lit uprights and crossbars drawing closer together towards the left. Almost black foliage closes the top; ground is only intermittently visible. Red forms emerge from shadow without revealing the entire route.

Repetition suggests passage while darkness restricts continuation. The eye follows successive framed thresholds rather than an open street. Each promises another section while concealing part of it. Without assigning ritual meaning, the view allows a bodily consideration of space unfolding between ordered structures and an environment not fully contained by them.

Personal consultation

The work, the space, the presentation.

What interests you about this work? I take time for your questions, its origins and its place in a collection. Together, we explore differences between works and their relationship with space, light and architecture.

Size, selected materials and bespoke framing are carefully coordinated. The precise presentation develops through our conversation.

A photograph of the intended space can help us consider scale and placement.
