Urban · Visions of Time
Flatrate, Schweiz
Artwork text and archival details
Adapted from the artist’s archive.
A computer stands above the city at night, its screen offering a connection to a virtual world. Beyond the other window, urban infrastructure and construction continue their promise of greater speed. Different colours of artificial light fill the photograph; none comes from a natural source.
The two windows set physical and virtual space beside each other. An online search remains open, but what it seeks is uncertain: information, contact, or a sense of closeness? Unlimited access does not necessarily resolve the solitude of the scene. The title turns a commercial promise into a question about time, the resource that connection cannot make unlimited.
