Reflections of India
Holi 2, Indien
2014
A closer look at the work
People crowd a deep red space. Faces, hands and fabric emerge from darker overlaps, with a violet pink head introducing another accent below. Raised and bent arms lead through the narrow frame.
Closeness suggests a shared setting without proving a shared emotion. Red connects forms while gestures preserve differences. A seemingly continuous colour field gradually reveals particular people and distinct postures, keeping whole and detail in tension.
