Reflections of India
Holi money, Indien
A closer look at the work
Rows of coins lie on a surface covered in pink powder. A cylindrical container stands on the left beside paper and printed material. Seen from above, the arrangement becomes almost flat. Light distinguishes the circular metal objects, while powder partially bridges objects and background.
Counting meets a colour that ignores individual boundaries. The coin rows impose order; scattered pink passes across it. Economic and festive signs coexist in this still life without their relationship being reduced to one definitive message.
