Urban · Visions of Time
Longing for home, Usa
A closer look at the work
A narrow passage opens between two pale rooftop structures. At its end, a person in a long light garment looks towards the city. A ladder leans against the left wall and writing marks the right. The distant Chrysler Building appears above the figure while warm light opens the confined space.
The work text identifies Jahnavi Harrison and places the photograph in Inside View. What is visible is a spatial relationship between one body, nearby walls and distant skyline. Longing for Home suggests belonging without establishing an inner state. Proximity and distance remain together, leaving open where a sense of home might arise.
