Urban · Visions of Time
New York Silver Edition 1
2010
A closer look at the work
Several high-rise facades overlap in black and white. A narrow darker building stands before a large pale grid. Window bands and vertical edges establish different rhythms, with little sky and shadows marking spatial steps.
Without colour, scale and repetition come forward. Windows suggest interiors while also becoming abstract units. The photograph alternates between recognising buildings and seeing their facades as graphic fields of light and dark.
