Urban · Visions of Time
New York Silver Edition 2, USA
2010
A closer look at the work
Overlapping high-rise facades fill a black-and-white frame. A broad pale windowed wall stands behind darker articulated buildings. Horizontal bands alternate with vertical grids, nearly excluding ground and sky.
Depth becomes legible through overlap and shadow among interlocking planes. Windows imply individual rooms yet merge into repetition from afar. Architecture remains both a possible human environment and a graphic arrangement beyond its particular uses.
