Reflections of India
Radha raman ecstasy, Indien
2014
A closer look at the work
A large cloud of yellow, orange and pink pigment crosses the picture. Raised arms and closely gathered bodies remain visible on the right, while colour conceals the space on the left. Individual particles form a luminous edge around a broad, almost solid centre. The elevated view connects human gesture with spreading colour.
According to the work text, this was photographed during Holi at Radha Raman Temple. A shared moment appears without portraying every participant individually. Colour both connects people and obstructs vision, bringing them into one pictorial space while partly concealing their contours. Proximity remains visible without requiring individual differences to disappear.
