Spiritual architecture durga and hanuman, Indien (leuchtkasten)A closer look at the work
A group of sculptural figures with multiple arms stands against intense blue. Raised hands and attributes form narrow bright contours, while the central body stays darker. Other shapes gather in the backlight below. The lightbox presentation emphasises the image's enclosed field.
The title names Durga and Hanuman, but looking can begin with the distribution of light. Bright edges give the sculptural bodies an almost drawn appearance. Volume remains recognisable while being translated into luminous lines, making the relationship between sculpture and photographic representation particularly visible.
