BUBBLE OF REALITY

An infrared panorama shot forms the background for Bubble of Reality, one of André Wagner's first NFTs. And this NFT is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the world of Web3.

Almost imperceptibly and shadowily, the logo of Ethereum, the cryptocurrency that is chasing Bitcoin, appears in the spinning bubble. The Crystal Bubble floats stably within itself. But it is vulnerable. What if the bubble bursts?

In front of an infrared photographed forest, a glass ball seems to float in space, as in the fortune teller's cloudy parlor. But the glass is thin, very thin. It is rather a delicate, sensitive bubble. Inside, the same motif rotates. Also a panoramic photograph of the same landscape, but shot normally, against whose colors the background landscape looks even more surreal.

What is the Ethereum logo doing inside this bubble? Is anyone clairvoyantly predictive today with a glimpse into the sphere? To what extent can we trust the extensive analytics? Will our future still be detectable to our senses in the usual way? What does the crystal ball say?

Already today we can ask ourselves: Which are our real world and the "real" future? Because although the infrared image in the background shows our familiar world, it is not ours. Why not? Because we do not know the environment in this way. Our brain struggles with the contradiction of interpreting the known structures and yet does not recognize the spectrum.

Because we are not able with our senses to really perceive everything that actually really exists, our feeling resists. What we see with our own eyes we do not want to accept in this way, because it seems to us unreal, "not right".

In this way, this NFT becomes a metaphor about NFT art itself. Familiar things, a photograph, in a form that presents itself to us as not yet fully tangible. Unfamiliar, new; a fantasy? And yet perhaps already present?
